Initially, I installed my windshield so that I looked through it. But one morning I was riding before sunrise and the moisture clouded my windshield so much that I had to stop and wipe it off every THREE blocks.

Then I rememberd how the fairing windshield was placed years ago (1966) on my BMW R-50s. I looked comfortably over the top of the shield. I now have my shield so that I lok over it and see the road way in front of me. The wind now grazes my helmet, allowing the vents to function in a bit of turbulent air. There is no wind to my face, so I can still smoke if I wish!

Wen the shield was protecting my head, I had almost no air. And down here at the tip of Texas, we need all the air we can get, allbeit at 99 degrees, hot air isn't much to covet, but it's all we've got.

Where Do You Position Your Windshield, and Why?
